And didn't Felix the Housecat not show up for a bunch of Houston Shows back in the day. I might be wrong about this. I seem to remember one with Farina where Felix didn't show up.

Anyone remember that party with Felix da Housecat and DJ Funk, probably in 98? It was in a warehouse in a fairly residential area. I know they used the venue for at least one more party. I wanna say it was called Infrastructure but not quite sure. I had a wild evening that night for sure.

artist fees are not usually determined by talent but by popularity. thus when an artist is more popular you will see a bigger turnout and the promoter can also charge more money and this is the way the artist and their agents tend to view things. (at least the top tier talent for sure) so therefore the prices are high. point being, talk to the artists and/or agents as a consumer that enjoys their act and let them know how you feel. because believe me the promoters do what they can to put on a good show (i.e. lighting sound and venue which cost $$$) as well as bring good talent that will make for a good party and turnout. and part of the way they try to keep cost down at the door is by negotiating with the agents and/or artists. also, another way you could get entry costs down is by gettin behind events and really helping promote. not only do the promoters sometimes compensate you if you help promote an event but the more people that come out on a REGULAR BASIS (this is key) the more safe a promoter feels charging less to achieve the break even point or maybe even do some free shows to give back to those who support his shows. so trust me when i say the door cost is totally fair and you as the partygoer and/or consumer is the one that can make the real difference.

For Felix? I highly doubt it. He's pretty expensive to book.
